"Echo Beach's unique sound derives from the combination of guitar, bass and percussion. We turn up the heat with samba, merengue and other tropical jazz -- we chill out with bossa nova and ballads. The group plays jazz standards (by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Charles Mingus, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Pat Metheny and more), folk (by Nick Drake among others), plus its own award-winning originals such as "Delicate Creature" (earned a "Radio Quality" rating in the Billboard Magazine Songwriting Contest). Echo Beach has been entertaining Northern California since 1991." |
